Festive Candy Cane Inspired Look

Hey Chicas!

I'm finally back with a holiday makeup look.  This was a request from my subscriber moonflowersparkles.  She is the kindest sweetest person and so supportive.  So I just wanted to say a big thanks for the encouragement :)

The request was "Hey girl!! Miss your videos! Can't wait till you post a new one...btw, I have a request. When you have a chance do you think you could do a semi-subtle "Candy Cane" eyeshadow look? With the traditional red and white and maybe some green?? Thank you :D *hugs*".  Isn't she just beyond super sweet !

So that is exactly what I set out to accomplish....only 3 weeks after her request, and one week after I tweeted about.  (You didn't know that I tweet?  Well still getting into the swing of it.  Follow me on twitter to see my attempts.)

So taking the inspiration from the above picture, I went with a snow white eye with dark green shading on the outer edge.  My cheeks are a deep red, which is a great way to give your face a little pick-me up in the winter paleness and all.  And the lips are the essential deep red for the season.  I covered off all the basis.  and the most important this about the look is that moonflowersparkles loved it :)

All the products that I used:
Too Faced Eye Shadow Insurance
L'Oreal Color Infallible Shadows
-Time Resist White*
-Permanent Khaki*
- Eternal Black
Annabelle Smooth liner - Black
NYC Color Kohl Liner - White
L'Oreal Lineur Intense Felt Tip Liquid Eyeliner - Carbon Black
L'Oreal Double Extend Mascara - Black
Hard Candy Fox in a Box - Hot Flash
L'Oreal Infallible Lip Color -  Refined Ruby*

* denotes a product that L'Oreal Paris Canada provided me for either the Best Bold Eye Look Contest, or as part of the prize pack that was awarded to the top 5 finalists.

I really like the outcome, its always fun to experiment with a different look, especially when the idea came from another source.  I don't know it just makes it more challenging, you want to impress them. :-)

The look is great for the holidays it has the typical colors that you see but in a different application.  Its not to far out there, that you couldn't wear it to family gathering, but it's dramatic enough to wear to a party.  Or at least I think so anyway.

Want to recreate this look for yourself?  Just watch the video below and give it a try.

Hopefully it gets you in to the holiday spirit!  I still really need to get on the decorating bandwagon!

Caitlin xoxo
