Hey Chicas!
So I was wondering around Shoppers today....bad idea...but they always have some random things on sale that aren't in the flyer. The thing I found today were the Annabelle Monoeyeshadows, I love them. If you follow my tutorials you will know that I use them in almost every one..hehe.
They are of super great pigment, and they are the same size as the MAC single eyeshadows, so I keep them in a MAC palette.
The are regularly around $5ish, but they are currently on sale for around $4ish, so it is just a dollar, but in the same sense it is a dollar off.
I picked up two more shades, and will test them out before I mention them on here, but I'm sure they will be great!
Just wanted to share it with you guys, if you are interested in them they are on sale at Shoppers Drug Mart till the end of the week.

It was inspired by Lauren Conrad, with her dewy skin and signature eyeliner. Now it is just an inspiration, as I find LC's skin can look kinda oilish, so be sure to play down the dewy look all over your skin, you don't wanna look like an oil slick.
These are the products used:
Too Faced Shadow Insurance
Bed Head Palette:
- Vanillia
NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil - Cottage Cheese
Bed Head Palette:
- Peach
- Natural
-Brown
Maybelline Lash Line Stiletto - Black

Justin Bieber is the Sh!t
Hey Chicas!
So the plan was to create an interesting V-Day look for your nails. I came across this awesome looking polish at Wal-Mart, called "Step to the beat of my Heart", ummm yup its Justin Biebers nail polish line. Its Nicole by OPI, I had never tried Nicole, but I do love my OPI. So I figure that for about $6, what the heck, give it a go. I wanted to have hearts all over my nails, figured the sparkle like heart shapes would look really cute covering my nails. So I did a pink base "I Think in Pink" by OPI, then applied the Bieber polish...
Well, where do I start? First off, in the bottle it looks awesome, pinks, reds, and purple hearts in a light sparkle polish. Who doesn't want that? Well the brush sucks, it tends to pull the polish, so that you end up with ridges. And as you can see the hearts are not quite as plentiful as I thought. They were more like confetti type cut outs placed in a sparkle polish. They wouldn't get on the brush, and then if they did they wouldn't come off. If the hearts were on the craptastic brush and you applied the polish to your nails, the hearts would stay on the brush. So what ended up happening was trying to scrap the hearts on to the neck of the bottle, pick it up by the tip of the brush, and applying it like a decal. You're nails ended up goopey and uneven, and definitely not covered in hearts, as the polish bottle makes it seem.
So would I recommend this polish? No not a chance! I did buy another solid color, its on my nails right now, we'll see how the wear goes, as the application was rough too. The brush is bad, and the actual polish is not smooth.
The whole part of the draw to the polish was the hearts...so tell me why would you buy it if the hearts stayed in the bottle not on your nails?

My Fav Winter Facial Creams
Hey Chicas!
Crap, it has been freezing here, like -40 something with wind chill. That has got to do some harm to the moisture level of your skin. So that got me thinking about a previous conversation with my friends (Katelyn, Ashley and Tina) about skin care and more specifically cream.
Now there is a perception among people, that the best cream is the most expensive. Now there is some truth that that statement, but not fully. Expensive products do not ultimately mean better. The price for a large part comes from the packaging, and the amount of adverting that the company does. Granted there are some really good expensive products, but there are some really good non expensive ones too.
I am an esthetican by trade, I have tried many expensive products and many drugstore products. What I use now are all drug store products. I use them, for many reasons, they are reasonably priced (even the most expensive drug store ones are still pretty good), easily available, and they work just as well.
These are my favorite drugstore creams.
1. Impruv Cream - This was recommended to me by my doctor, was I was training and had numerous products being used, and my face just revolted! It was horrible, they were sore and wouldn't go away. This cream I used morning and night, and it helped to bring much needed moisture back into my skin, without breaking my skin out. It is my go to cream, when my face revolts against me. It is awesome! I recommend it to everyone, especially for dry/dehydrated skin and mature skin. Its wonderful for redness and it helps to keep the moisture level up where it needs to be. And if you have dry skin type or mature it really helps to give you the dewy look to your face, which is key to good healthy looking skin. I have used this cream for over 6 years, my mommy too!! :)
2. Clean and Clear Finishes Pore Perfecting Moisture - First off this has SPF of 15 which isn't wonderful but it has something which is good, the website states "softens the appearance of pores with light diffusing minerals to give you a beautiful, smooth finish". It is great for dehydrated skin, that still has oil issues, it gives you the moisture you need without adding any excess oil. I started to use it in July 2010, and haven't stopped yet! I really love it, your face will feel smooth and moisturized, and almost silky like, but not oily. It is works wonderfully in the winter as well, if your skin gets really dry, likely not enough for you, but it works for me.
3. Clean and Clear Soft Night Moisturizer - The website states that it "is a lightweight and oil-free moisturizer that has been specifically designed to clarify and infuse moisture into young skin without clogging pores. The unique formula features glycolic acid, natural fruit acids, a Specially Formulated Moisturizing Complex and an antioxidant, white tea, that work through the night to clarify and soften, promoting beautiful, healthy looking skin now and in the future." It is a great cream, I like that it has a pump, I use about 2-3 depending on my skin. I bought it in August and the same bottle is still going. It really does make your skin soft, the product does what it says it does. I have even used it as a day cream when my skin is super dehydrated, the makeup wears well, without going shiny.
So I have a video that you can watch if I'm too wordy on here....
All products can be found at a drugstore. Impruv is found at Shoppers, Lawtons and Sobeys, the small bottle is about $15 and the larger one around $30ish, but lasts a long time. The other two are fairly inexpensive at $10ish I would guess.
The one key item that I would mention, is to check the ingredient list!! If the product is boasting a key ingredient that the products has to make....well something happen, check the list if its at the top then there is a larger quantity, if its near the bottom of the list the quantity is smaller. So if the ingredients work from largest quantity to smallest quantity. So for example, the Clean and Clear Soft Night Moisturizer, they comment on fruit extracts and white tea, those are at the bottom of the list, now the product works well regardless, but always check that out, if that ingredient is the reason for you buying it.
These are my own opinions and experiences, and hope they help you fix any problem issues you are having.

Foundation - Dream Smooth Mousse
Hey Chicas!!!
So I haven't done too many reviews, but I don't like to review anything without testing it fully. I have owned it for 3 months or so, and have been able to test it for longevity, coverage, etc. It has been through different weather, skin issues and the like.
So lets get down to it
Pros:
Yeah so as you can see, the foundation is not perfect, but there are way more pros then cons, and if I think of any more I shall add them.
I would totally repurchase, as I saw in the video below if you only have 3-5 mins to apply foundation this is the best stuff for you. It works well on combination skin (mine), and dehydrated skin (my mommy) so unless you have very unruly oil issues you'll be fine.
Check out the video for more a detailed review, as I seem to be better when I just chat it out.

Pros:
- good price/easily available
- good coverage
- buildable
- super easy and fast to apply
- blends like a dream!
- I like the amount you get (some may find it small, but I don't)
- great for travelling
- self contained, with applicator
- like sponge applicator
- it could go either way - but it has a cooling affect on the skin, which I find reduces the redness
- needs to be set with powder (i set all foundations with powder though)
- not too much shade selection
- seems to separate on the skin (regardless of skin type, easily fixed with buffing)

Green Smokey Eye
Hey Chicas!
I thought that this look would be of some interest to you. I am so tired of the black smokey eye, but give me some color and I'm off to the races!
I myself, have hazel eyes, so it depends on what color I want to play up. When I use green eyeshadow, the brown of my eyes come out more. And when the green is darker, or maybe its just this shade the green seems to come out more.
Now this color, isn't just for brown eyes or hazel, anyone can wear it.

How to Fake a Wide Awake Look
Hey Chicas!
I apologize for the long absence on my blog. The holidays have been crazy though, and I thought I would take a little break. But I'm back now!
I'm sure that over the holiday season, we all had longer nights then we are used to. I know that I did! But, regardless of how late we were up the night before, we don't want any one to know about it. That can get pretty hard with the lovely dark circles that take up residence under our eyes.
http://www.hylexinreviews.com/darkcirclesundereyes-hylexin/ |
The product is Garnier Anit-Dark Circle Eye Roller, and I LOVE IT!!!
It does have a slight yellow/peach tone to it, but this is good for decreasing the darkness of the under eye area. I wouldn't recommend that you apply it to a bare face, you do need to apply foundation over it to blend in the yellow tones to your natural skin tone. It also have a cool metal roller ball, which helps to decrease any puffiness that you may have as an after affect on the night before!
I have taken some pictures of what the process looks like on my face, so you can see the difference and the effectiveness of it.
The eye to your left, has the product on it, and the eye on your right is going through the process of covering it up. As you can see there is a visible difference to the dark circles and keep in mind that that is only one layer of the thin coverage. And with the foundation over, it will be vertically non detectable.
The final makeup look that this eye cover was a precursor to is:
As you can see, I have no noticeable under eye circles. I highly recommend you purchasing the Garnier Anti- Dark Circle Eye Roller!
